Sound of Movies – Reality Bites hosted by Ashley Wincer and Ann Pulbrook.
Reality Bites is about Lelaina, played by Winona Ryder, who is an aspiring videographer working on her personal documentary called Reality Bites. The documentary is about the disenfranchised lives of her friends and roommates and the challenges some of the career and lifestyle choices faced by Generation X.
Ann and I had slightly differing thoughts about this movie. I enjoyed Reality Bites more than Ann, however we both recommend you watch Reality Bites at least once in your life. The big question is, would I add Reality Bites to my personal movie collection? No, it is not worth purchasing, but still worth watching. We both enjoyed the soundtrack. If you listen to the podcast, you’ll find out. We both felt similar about the character of Troy Dyer, played by Ethan Hawke, he was rude and annoying at times. Don’t get me wrong, Ethan Hawke did a great job playing Troy, but his character most people would not put up with in real life. Ann felt people simply would not have anything to do with him in reality. Reality Bites is a coming of age movie and a good reflection of the early 1990s culture with some quips.
